A man is still at large after robbing an Oak Creek Circle K on April 22, and Yavapai County sheriff’s investigators are using a drawing of the robber sketched by the store clerk along with surveillance footage to help catch him.

The drawing, which includes a cartoon-style bubble with words the man uttered, looks similar to the surveillance camera pictures.

According to the clerk, the man walked into the store and directly up to the counter, the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. The man told the clerk to give him the money or he would shoot. The clerk said the man moved his hands in a motion that made it seem he was armed but saw no gun, according to officials.

The clerk complied and gave the robber an undisclosed amount of money.

The robber was described as 6 feet tall, approximately 170 pounds and wearing a blue long-sleeve hoodie with faded blue jeans, sunglasses and new white tennis shoes, said sheriff’s officials said.

The clerk was able to draw a sketch of the robber for deputies, officials said, including a bubble over the drawing that repeated what the man said, demanding that the clerk “empty the register” and adding, “Don’t make me shoot ya.”

Security footage of the robber in the store was also provided.

Deputies searched the area but did not find the robber, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Todd Swaim at 928-554-8605 or Yavapai Silent Witness at 800-932-3232.

A tip given through Silent Witness that leads to the arrest of the robber becomes eligible for a $1,000 reward.
