Wrong-way driver in golf cart stopped on Loop 202 SanTan Freeway | Integrity Garage Doors of Phoenix

An 83-year-old man was found driving a golf cart into oncoming traffic on the Loop 202 SanTan Freeway in Chandler early Thursday, officials said.

State troopers and Chandler police stopped the man, who was found unharmed. And it wasn’t the first time, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The man was found driving his golf cart on Interstate 10 near Wild Horse Pass on July 11, DPS said in a tweet.

The driver has “mental health issues associated with old age.”

He was safely returned to his wife’s custody, DPS said.

The driver of the golf cart does have mental health issues associated with old age. We had contact with him on July 11th, when he drove his golf cart on I-10 near Wild Horse Pass. During that incident, A Good Samaritan stayed behind him until we were able to get him stopped.
