Three adults and four children were injured in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 10 in Phoenix in the early morning hours of Sept. 8, Arizona Department of Public Safety officials said.

The crash occurred at approximately 3 a.m. Friday morning in the HOV lane near 19th Avenue when a sedan driving the wrong way collided with a U-Haul that was towing a trailer, authorities said.

Those involved in the crash were taken to a nearby hospital for further medical care but the injuries were not life threatening, according to officials.

This crash marks the 70th wrong-way crash in Arizona since Jan. 1.
