A woman was shot in an apparent road-rage incident in Glendale on Wednesday, police said.
The shooting happened about 5 p.m. at 59th Avenue and Bell Road, Sgt. Scott Waite said.
Responding officers found the woman with a single gunshot wound, he said.
She was taken to a hospital, and her injuries are considered life-threatening, Waite added.
The shooter, also a woman, still was at the scene when police arrived. She was detained by police, Waite said.
Waite said the initial investigation indicates that a road-rage incident between the women began a few miles south of the intersection.
Police blocked off an area near a corner with crime scene tape that surrounded several vehicles.
No additional information was available.
