A woman was found dead after Phoenix firefighters extinguished a car fire at a crash near Seventh Avenue and Mission Lane early Saturday morning, according to officials.

Phoenix police and fire responded to a report of a collision and car fire at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday and found a car on fire had crashed into a commercial building and at least one woman was dead, police said.

The woman has not been identified, according to Sgt. Mercedes Fortune, a spokesperson for Phoenix police.

Witnesses told police that the car was speeding on Seventh Avenue when it crashed into the building, according to Fortune.

No firefighters were injured and the fire did not spread into the building, according to officials.
