Kiya Dorroh was just a sixth grader when she got her first college basketball offer from the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley.

Now a freshman at Tucson Tanque Verde, the 6-foot-1 phenom has received five Pac-12 offers before playing her first high school basketball game.

It began to take off in June with an offer from Arizona. That precededĀ an offer from Arizona State in July. Washington offered in August, Washington State in September and USC this month.

Dorroh plays anywhere from point guard to small forward on the court.

“My husband and I don’t have to do much to keep her grounded, because she is humble,” said Kristin Dorroh, Kiya’s mom. “She knows what a blessing her situation is. She just keeps working hard to get better.”
