“Today’s Homeowner” hosts Danny Lipford and Chelsea Lipford Wolf will visit the Des Plaines, IL, home of Julia Gray, who won the “Curb Appeal Makeover” contest sponsored by “Today’s Homeowner” and ThermaTru Doors.
MOBILE, ALABAMA (August 17, 2018) – The nationally syndicated, Emmy-nominated television show, “Today’s Homeowner with Danny Lipford”, is heading to the Chicago area for a special curb appeal makeover. Host and home improvement expert, Danny Lipford, and co-host, Chelsea Lipford Wolf, are visiting the Des Plaines, IL, home of Julia Gray, who won the “Curb Appeal Makeover” contest sponsored by “Today’s Homeowner” and ThermaTru Doors.
As winner of the national contest, Gray will select a brand new entry door unit, courtesy of ThermaTru, to be installed at her home. In addition, the “Today’s Homeowner” crew will tackle several projects to drastically improve her home’s curb appeal, including:
•Pressure washing the home’s exterior
•All new landscaping
•Addition of flower boxes
•Installation of a shade awning
•Upgrades for the mailbox, house numbers and lighting
All of the projects will be featured on a special “Curb Appeal” episode of “Today’s Homeowner” TV.
“Curb appeal projects are always popular with our audience,” says Lipford. “There’s something so satisfying about transforming the front of a home and seeing a dramatic before-and-after. We can’t wait to meet Julia and her family in person and help them gain that satisfaction for themselves as we work together on a whole new look and attitude for their entry.”
Gray entered the contest hoping to win the makeover for her post-war brick bungalow. In her submission, she said, “Our home is warm and welcoming on the inside, but looking from the curb you’d never know. The door doesn’t help the house pop from the street, or help us say ‘Visitors welcome!’
Upon receiving a personal call from Lipford about winning the contest, Gray thought he was pulling her leg. She said, “When I realized I was really speaking to Danny Lipford himself, I knew I was going to be part of something wonderful!”
Gray resides in the home with her husband, Ted, and their two children. She says their entire family looks forward to seeing what the team comes up with to help their home look more inviting. The family is also excited to help put the changes into place, hoping for a chance to use some power tools and learn a few tips and tricks along the way. Gray says she’s confident the result will make the front of her home look as warm and inviting as the inside.
The “Today’s Homeowner” team will arrive at the Grays to begin their curb appeal makeover August 27. The episode featuring the Grays’ improvements is set to air nationwide the week of September 24 to an audience of nearly 2 million viewers.
