Three people were injured Monday evening after two vehicles collided on the roadway and one slid off the road, striking two pedestrians, Phoenix fire officials said.
The accident occurred near 83rd Avenue and Indian School Road, said Capt. Reda Bigler, a Phoenix Fire Department spokeswoman.
One victim needed to be extricated from the vehicle by firefighters, she said.
An 11-year-old girl and 61-year-old woman, who were pedestrians, and one 19-year-old male were all taken to local hospitals in serious but stable condition, Bigler said.
The injuries were not expected to be life threatening, she said.
Neither speed nor impairment appeared to be a factor, but officers are still investigating, police said.
