A Tempe police officer and a second person were transported to a hospital Sunday afternoon after a collision.

An officer was responding to an emergency call for service with lights and sirens activated, according to Officer Anthony Nardini, Tempe police spokesman.

Nardini said after all traffic stopped, the officer entered the intersection, and a vehicle involved with the police call collided with the police vehicle.

The injuries were non-life-threatening, Nardini said.

Impairment did not appear to be a factor, he said. Officers remained at the scene.
