USA Basketball officially announced its roster for the 2021 Summer Games in Toyko with Phoenix Suns All-Star Devin Booker on the 12-man roster.

Booker confirmed his commitment to the team earlier this month.

“It’s a blessing man,” Booker said. “I’ve had great conversations with (Team USA director Jerry Colangelo and head coach Gregg Popovich). I’m really excited about that.”

The 12-man roster is as follows in alphabetical order:

  • Bam Adebayo (Miami Heat)
  • Bradley Beal (Washington Wizards)
  • Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns)
  • Kevin Durant (Brooklyn Nets)
  • Jerami Grant (Detroit Pistons)
  • Draymond Green (Golden State Warriors)
  • Jrue Holiday (Milwaukee Bucks)
  • Zach LaVine (Chicago Bulls)
  • Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers)
  • Kevin Love (Cleveland Cavaliers)
  • Khris Middleton (Milwaukee Bucks)
  • Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics).

“I’m happy for the selected players and looking forward to having the opportunity to work with this wonderful group when practice gets underway on July 6 in Las Vegas,” said Popovich in a news release. “I’m excited to represent the United States in our quest to earn a gold medal in Tokyo.”

The national team starts a five-game exhibition series July 10 as all the games will be played at Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay.

  • July 10 vs. Nigeria, 5 p.m.
  • July 12 vs. Australia 5 p.m.
  • July 13 vs. Argentina, 3 p.m.
  • July 16 vs. Australia, 3 p.m.
  • July 18 vs. Spain, 6 p.m.

Booker, Holiday and Middleton are the only three players on the team still competing in the postseason. The Suns have a 3-1 lead on the Los Angeles Clippers going into Game 5 of the Western Conference finals Monday in Phoenix while the Bucks are up 2-1 on the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference finals.

If the Suns and Bucks both reach the NBA Finals that will begin July 6 or 8 depending on when the Eastern Conference finals end, Booker, Holiday and Middleton will miss the start of training camp and exhibition games.

The finals will end as late as July 22 if the best-of-7 series reaches a decisive Game 7. The second-seeded Suns would have homecourt advantage if they reach the finals as they have the highest of any of the remaining playoff teams.

Milwaukee is a third seed, Los Angeles is fourth seed and Atlanta is seeded fifth.

The rescheduled Summer Olympic Games will be July 23 through August 8 in Tokyo. Men’s basketball preliminary play starts July 25 and ends August 2.

The quarterfinals are schedule for Aug. 3, followed by the semifinals Aug. 5 and the gold and bronze medal games Aug. 7.

Shawn Marion and Amar’e Stoudemire were the last Suns to play for USA in the Summer Olympics as they won bronze in 2004.

Charles Barkley (1992, 1996) and Jason Kidd (2000) won gold for USA while with the Suns.
