Officials evacuated one community Saturday night due to the Goodwin Fire just south of Prescott, authorities said.

The Pine Flat community, consisting of about 30 homes, was the only area under evacuation as of Sunday afternoon, said Debbie Maneely, a spokeswoman with the Prescott National Forest.

The fire started June 24 and has burned approximately 1,000 acres, according to information posted on an inter-agency fire website.

Officials don’t yet know the cause of the fire, but it was expected to be upgraded to a Type 1 incident starting on Monday.
