Get details on restaurants cited by Maricopa County inspectors for four or more priority violations the week of Sept. 25. 

A priority violation is a major violation that directly contributes to increasing the risk of food-borne illness or injury. If listed in the reports, remedies implemented during inspections are included.

At bottom, see a sampling of the many restaurants graded as an A for no violations.

The Springs of Scottsdale, 3212 N. Miller Road, Scottsdale.

  1. Employee handled dirty equipment then handled clean equipment without washing hands. Employee washed hands.
  2. Chlorine sanitizer at zero concentration.
  3. Milk, cut melon, yogurt and cooked pasta held at improper temperature. Pasta discarded. Items moved to cooler.
  4. Floor drain in front of dish machine not draining.

Jerry’s Restaurant, 2323 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix.

  1. Cook handled eggs then put on gloves without washing hands. Cook washed hands and put on gloves.
  2. Chlorine sanitizer in dishwasher at zero concentration.
  3. Lettuce held at improper temperature. Discarded.
  4. Eggs expired. Discarded.

Magic Chili Garden, 1440 S. Country Club Drive, Suite 10, Mesa.

  1. Employee washed dishes then handled food without washing hands. Employee washed hands.
  2. Raw chicken being stored next to raw pork and above raw fish. Items rearranged.
  3. Rice held at improper temperature. Discarded.
  4. Chlorine sanitizer above proper concentration. Sanitizer diluted to proper concentration.

La Bocca/Modern Margarita, 1 E. Boston St., Chandler.

  1. Employee handled dirty dishes then served customer without washing hands. Employee washed hands.
  2. Employee used cup to drink then returned cup to the bar for use without washing. Cup placed in dishwasher.
  3. Chlorine sanitizer in dishwasher at zero concentration.
  4. Chemical dispenser attached directly to the mopsink faucet with atmospheric vacuum breaker  upstream and water left on. Manager disconnected the hose from the faucet.
