Police in Goodyear are searching for a man with a gun who was seen in a Walmart store early Friday morning, prompting an evacuation of the store.

Shortly before 1:40 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance about the man at Walmart near Interstate 10 and Estrella Parkway, according to Lisa Berry, a spokeswoman for Goodyear police.

Walmart management evacuated the store.

Officers made contact with the man, who was uncooperative and ran out the back of the store, Berry said in an email.

No gunshots were fired, Berry said. A perimeter was set up but the man had already left the area.

No arrests have been made.

Police are working to identify the man, who was described as Hispanic and in his mid-30s, about 5 feet 5 inches tall with facial tattoos. He wore a Dallas Cowboys coat and hat.

An investigation is ongoing, police said.
