Peoria police are searching for a person who may have been involved in a robbery and shooting late Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred near 81st and Peoria avenues about 5 p.m., police said.

One man was shot and taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, Peoria police said.

Peoria police released surveillance video and pictures of the suspect inside a store prior to the shooting. The man still was at large late Wednesday.

He is described as black, with a thin build, about 150 to 180 pounds, 5 feet 7 inches tall, wearing a gray shirt and a hat that may have said “Cabelas” on it.

No further information was immediately available.
