New odds for the Most Valuable Player of the NBA Finals have come out since the Phoenix Suns punched their ticket to the series on Wednesday night and they offer some interesting takeaways.

One of them?

Could Devin Booker and Chris Paul tie for the award?

Probably not (no players have ever shared the award), but FanDuel has the starting Suns guards each at +200 in its latest odds for the NBA Finals MVP, tied for first.

The Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo is third, well behind at +550.

The Atlanta Hawks’ Trae Young is fourth at +600, followed by the Bucks’ Khris Middleton.

Two other Suns made FanDuel’s odds with center Deandre Ayton coming in at +2000 (sixth) and forward Mikal Bridges at +10000 (eighth).

So Phoenix has four players in the sportsbook’s Top 8 in odds for the MVP award. Not too shabby.

Booker or Paul the MVP favorite?

Should Booker or Paul be the favorite to win the MVP?

A couple of other sportsbooks offer differing odds.

DraftKings lists Booker at +175 in its odds for the award, making him the favorite. But it has Paul close behind, at +200.

Chinmay Vaidya gives the edge to Paul, however.

He writes: “In the event the Suns win the championship, Booker and Ayton are likely going to be scoring leaders. However, the media votes for Finals MVP and Paul is one of those NBA personalities people like to reward. He’ll also have the numbers to back up the honor if the Suns win.”

BetOnline has Paul at 5/4 in its odds for the NBA Finals MVP and Booker at 7/4.

That’s not a big separation.

Antetokounmpo is third at 15/4, followed by Young at 8/1 and Middleton at 14/1.

Could another Suns player win the NBA Finals MVP?

BetOnline has Ayton sixth in its odds to win Most Valuable Player of the NBA Finals, putting him at 28/1.

DraftKings has Ayton at +2200 and Bridges at +10000.

Should the Suns win the title, you would have to think that Booker or Paul would take home the honor, but a huge series from Ayton or someone else could definitely make voting for the award really interesting.

Who do you think will win the award?
