#RallyTheValley is expanding far beyond the Valley of the Sun’s borders.

More states are rooting for the Phoenix Suns in the NBA playoffs that any other, according to a recent study.

And it’s not really even close.

BetOnline.ag recently released a map created by using recent geotagged Twitter data tracking official NBA team hashtags and the data showed 17 states rooting for the Suns.

Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado are supporting Phoenix’s postseason run, which isn’t too big of a surprise, but some other states included might be.

The others?

Oregon, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Louisiana, Nebraska, Mississippi, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Massachusetts and Hawaii.

That’s a lot of support, from sea to shining sea, bringing up the question: Are the Suns now America’s NBA team?

It appears that they could be, at least for their run in the 2021 NBA postseason.

The Utah Jazz, Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers each had eight states supporting them, according to the map, with five states backing the Atlanta Hawks.

The Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers each only had two states in their corners.

Suns fans have impressed during the team’s run to the Western Conference Finals at the team’s home games and they also made their presence felt in the team’s Game 3 and Game 4 wins over the Nuggets in Denver.

According to that map from BetOnline.ag, the team’s number of fans is growing as more and more back the team as a possible sentimental favorite for the NBA title in 2021.

Phoenix has never won the NBA title. The team didn’t even make the playoffs last year (and is in the playoffs for the first time since 2010 this year), but did impress in the NBA bubble with a perfect 8-0 record.

The Jazz vs. Clippers, Nets vs. Bucks and 76ers vs. Hawks series still haven’t been decided yet, but once three of those teams are eliminated, it’s possible that a lot of other states could be rooting for the Suns in the 2021 playoffs as well.

It’s not far-fetched to imagine that map of the United States soon covered in orange.

What a sight that would be.
