Phoenix Rising FC scored a pair of goals in the final 20 minutes, but the comeback attempt fell short in a 4-3 loss to Orange County SC on Saturday night at Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex.

Solomon Asante tallied two goals and Devante Debose added a score in the losing effort for the Rising (12-6-5). Phoenix will head to Las Vegas next Saturday for an 8 p.m. match.

Both teams are six points behind conference leader Real Monarchs SLC (15-5-2). … Forward Chris Cortez had two goals and an assist in the Rising’s 4-1 win at Portland last week. Cortez now has 11 goals, tied for third most in the USL. … The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in the first meeting this season and then the Rising beat Orange County 1-0 in June. … The Rising visit Las Vegas next Saturday.
