A fast-moving fire that started in a bedroom has displaced 15 people who were living in the west Phoenix house, fire officials said.
The fire started Friday afternoon in a bedroom of the home, near 35th Avenue and Indian School Road, and quickly spread, Phoenix fire officials said.
Firefighters were forced to cut through the roof to control the blaze, officials said.
Seven of the 15 residents were home at the time and made it out safely, said officials, noting there were working smoke detectors in the house that alerted them to the fire.
In all, 10 children and five adults were living in the house and will be displaced, fire officials said.
Phoenix Fire Crisis Response units were working with the family.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
