Phoenix Fan Fusion has postponed its January 2022 event due to the delta variant of the coronavirus.

After several postponements throughout the pandemic, the typically annual multi-genre fan convention that attracts thousands of comic book, sci-fi, fantasy and pop culture enthusiasts to downtown Phoenix was ultimately unable to host an event in either 2020 or 2021.

Earlier this year, organizers announced that they had set their sights on Jan. 14-16, 2022, for the next convention. They have now pushed that date back to May 27-29, 2022, which is Memorial Day weekend. The event is still slated to take place at Phoenix Convention Center.

What we know about Phoenix Fan Fusion 2022

Last year was the first time in nearly 20 years that Phoenix Fan Fusion, which started in 2002, was canceled.

Dave Bautista, Felicia Day, Doug Jones, Tom Felton, Jodi Benson and GloZell Green were among the celebrity guests scheduled to attend in 2020. The 2022 guest list and proposed schedule for Q&As, meet-and-greets and photo sessions in 2022 have not been released.

Passes and exhibitor spaces will be automatically transferred to the new dates. Anyone with questions or concerns can contact Eva Moore at [email protected].
