A multi-vehicle crash left one person dead and two people injured Sunday morning in Phoenix, police said.

The crash happened near Seventh Street and Cave Creek Road, according to Sgt. Armando Carbajal, a Phoenix police spokesman. The collision occurred when one vehicle crossed the center line as it was traveling on Seventh Street, hitting the second car, he said.

A 65-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital and later died there, officials said. A 29-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash.

As of noon Sunday, northbound Seventh Street was closed from Dunlap Avenue to Cave Creek Road. Southbound Seventh Street was closed from Mission Lane to Cave Creek Road.

The crash remained under investigation.
