A 42-year-old man who was crossing a Phoenix street against a red light Sunday evening died after being hit by a car, police said.

The man, whose name was not released Monday, was crossing Dunlap Avenue at Third Street when he was struck by a westbound vehicle that had the right of way, according to a Phoenix police statement.

The driver, a 57-year-old woman, was not suspected of being impaired or speeding at the time of the 6:30 p.m. incident, police said.
