USA TODAY Sports’ Scott Gleeson breaks down the field heading toward selection Sunday.

USA TODAY

The Pac-12 Conference only has one team in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll, Oregon, at No. 13.

It could, however, get seven teams in the 2020 NCAA Tournament.

USA TODAY Sports currently has Oregon as a No. 4 seed in its NCAA Tournament projections.

But it also has UCLA as a No. 12 seed, Stanford as a No. 11, USC as a No. 10, Arizona State as a No. 8, Colorado as a No. 7 and Arizona as a No. 7.

We’re pretty sure the conference would be OK with earning seven bids in 2020 after it only received three in 2019 (Washington was a No. 9, ASU was a No. 11 and Oregon was a No. 12).

USA TODAY Sports’ Shelby Mast and Scott Gleeson wrote this about the Pac-12’s March Madness chances:

“Although the Pac-12’s seeding lines for these teams aren’t favorable, getting in is half the battle. In March, anything can happen. And if the Pac-12 wins the bubble as it is now 13 days from Selection Sunday, it could also be a major winner in the NCAA tournament.”

Gleeson wrote, in a separate piece, that Oregon, Colorado, Arizona and Arizona State are currently locks for the NCAA bracket.

He has USC, Stanford and UCLA among 23 teams on the bubble for March Madness.

He wrote: “For some bubble teams, February provided life. UCLA, one of seven projected Pac-12 tourney teams, has won seven consecutive games to vault into the field of 68. The problem? A long list of bad losses from earlier in the season. Peaking in March matters — if you can get in.”

USA TODAY Sports isn’t the only site to be high on the Pac-12’s chances of a lot of bids for the NCAA Tournament.

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi also has seven Pac-12 teams currently making the field.

He has Colorado as a No. 5 seed, USC as a No. 11, Oregon as a No. 4, Arizona as a No. 6, UCLA as a No. 12, Arizona State as a No. 10 and Stanford as a No. 11.

CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm also has the Pac-12 getting seven teams into the tournament at the moment.

He has Arizona as a No. 8 seed, Arizona State as a No. 9, UCLA as a No. 11, Colorado as a No. 7, USC as a No. 8, Oregon as a No. 4 and Stanford as a No. 10.
