With the MLB season heading down the final stretch, it’s a good time to take a look at how former Arizona baseball players are faring in the big leagues.

Seven former Wildcats have made appearances in MLB games so far in 2017.

The Giants’ Nick Hundley has the highest batting average at .275.

The Brewers’ Jett Bandy has the most home runs with six.

The Giants’ Mark Melancon is the only former Wildcats pitcher in MLB so far this season. He has 11 saves on the year.

How former Arizona baseball players are faring in 2017:

Jett Bandy

Bandy is batting .214 for the Brewers. He has 34 hits, six doubles and six home runs and 18 RBIs. He has struck out 46 times and walked 14 times.

Nick Hundley

Hundley is hitting .275 for the Giants with five home runs, 21 RBIs, 19 doubles and 52 hits. He has struck out 55 times and walked eight times.

Alex Mejia 

In 10 games with the Cardinals, Mejia hit .214 with a home run and two RBIs. He has three hits on the season.

Mark Melancon

Melancon has 11 saves so far and a 1-2 record for the Giants along with a 3.97 ERA. He has struck out 20 and walked three in 22.2 innings. 

Rob Refsnyder 

Refsnyder is batting .222 for the Blue Jays since being traded from the Yankees. He has six hits.

Joey Rickard

Rickard has hit .254 for the Orioles this season. He has four home runs, 18 RBIs, 14 doubles and 58 hits. He has struck out 56 times and walked eight times.

Steve Selsky

In eight games and nine at bats with the Red Sox, Selsky hit .111. His lone hit was a double. He has five strikeouts this season.
