Sports Pulse: Women’s NCAA Tournament Final Four preview
USA TODAY
A Women’s NCAA Tournament Final Four video was posted by the NCAA on Thursday, showing clips of UConn, Stanford and South Carolina.
Notice a problem?
That is only three of the four teams in the Women’s Final Four.
The Arizona basketball team, making its first trip to the national semifinals, was not included in the video.
The Wildcats, needless to say, were not amused by the slight.
“Those are things that get missed, sometimes, and shouldn’t be. Because there are four teams that have worked really hard to get here. Stuff like that shouldn’t happen,” head coach Adia Barnes said, via ESPN.

Arizona star Aari McDonald wasn’t quite as kind on the omission.
“I re-watched it a couple of times. I was like ‘Wait, I didn’t see any red,'” McDonald told reporters. ” … It was frustrating. I definitely took it as a sign of disrespect. But it is what it is. Got to get it together. I mean, we’re not worried about that. We’re going to do our thing and, definitely, you’re going to see that translate to the court.”
The Arizona women’s basketball team Twitter account and Arizona’s Sam Thomas reacted to the tweet before it was deleted by the NCAA’s Women’s Basketball twitter account.
Thomas tweeted: “THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE. We are actually still in the Final Four and will be playing against Uconn on Friday @6:30 MST”

Others also noticed the omission.
As Thomas tweeted, the Wildcats are indeed still in the Women’s Final Four and face UConn at 6:30 p.m. Arizona time as a huge underdog.
Maybe that video slight will be used as a little extra motivation?
