While Day 1 of March Madness featured two upsets, it was certainly filled with action and excitement. What will the second day bring? That’s the best part of the NCAA tournament — we know it will be fun and we know it will be unpredictable. The 12 hours of college basketball begins just after noon ET.

NCAA issues statement on tournament site court repair
A court repair was needed in Greenville, a regional site for this year’s NCAA tournament. The NCAA sent the following statement to in regards to the issue at hand:
“During the first session of today’s NCAA tournament games in Greenville, a minor irregularity was discovered on one of the panels on the playing court. As is the case every year, our partners from Connor Sport Court are on site, and they quickly repaired the seam as soon as the North Carolina-Texas Southern game concluded. Once the repairs were made, players from Duke and Troy were given access to the court and each team had 46 minutes to warm up for tonight’s first game in the second session from Greenville. The safety of the student-athletes remain our top priority.”
No. 11 Rhode Island knocks off No. 6 Creighton for second upset of the day
With former Ram-great Lamar Odom watching, Rhode Island never trailed in their upset victory over Creighton Friday night. Freshman Jeff Dowtin led the way with 23 points.
No. 11 USC rallies back for second time, knocks out No. 6 SMU
The Trojans completed the first upset of the day on Friday, storming back from a double-digit deficit against the Mustangs.
Lamar Odom on scene for Rhode Island-Creighton
Rhode Island is making its first NCAA tournament appearance in 18 years, and Lamar Odom, one of its most famous alums, is there to watch. Odom, who played for Rhode Island in 1998-98, hit a three-pointer against Temple to give the school its first Atlantic-10 Tournament championship. The former NBA star, who has struggled with substance abuse and marital problems with Khloé Kardashian, looked healthy and talked to USA TODAY Sports about where he is in life.
SMU’s Semi Ojeleye throws down early dunk of the tournament
Early in the second half, the No. 6 Mustangs were clinging to a 40-36 lead against No. 11 USC when Semi Ojeleye threw down a vicious put-back dunk in-between two defenders.
Arkansas edges Seton Hall in 8-9 game
The No. 8 Razorbacks trailed by eight with less than nine minutes left, but rallied to beat Seton Hall 77-71. Arkansas will play the winner of North Carolina and Texas Southern.
Meaningless shot not so meaningless for bettors
Down four points, Oklahoma State guard Jawun Evans hit a three-pointer at the buzzer against Michigan. While inconsequential in the final score (92-91 Wolverines), it great news for those who put money on the Cowboys. The Wolverines entered the game as a 2.5-point favorite, meaning the 10th-seeded Cowboys covered the spread.

Arkansas’ Moses Kingsley denied Seton Hall’s Desi Rodriguez at the rim:
Baylor runs away from New Mexico State
The No. 14 Aggies led third-seeded Baylor at halftime but were blown out in the second half, losing 91-73 against the Bears.
Michigan moves on
The Wolverines were 16-for-29 on three-pointers (11-for-15 in the second half), beating Oklahoma State 92-91 to advance to the second round. Michigan will meet the winner of Louisville and Jacksonville State.
Michael Phelps gets in on the madness
The all-time most decorated Olympian said last year that his son – less than a year old – will be going to Michigan, so it’s no surprise to see the swimmer show his support during the Wolverines’ game:
Another Baylor upset brewing?
No. 14 New Mexico State leads No. Baylor 40-38 at halftime in Tulsa. Remember that the Bears lost in the first round as a No. 3 seed in 2015 and as a No. 5 in 2016.

No. 7 Michigan and No. 10 Oklahoma State fought evenly in the first half, which featured this Brandon Averette to Jeffrey Carroll alley-oop from the Cowboys:
Michigan’s wild run picks back up
Last week was a busy one for the Wolverines, who won four games in four days to claim the Big Ten title after the team was involved in a scary airplane accident. They tip off the day’s action, against Oklahoma State in Indianapolis.
