The NBA and the Native American Basketball Invitational are partnering on the first Jr. NBA camp for Native American youth in Maricopa and Phoenix.

Led by former Lakers forward AC Green, who is of Native American descent, the camp runs through Wednesday, July 12. Others leading the camp will be ex-Suns forward Cedric Ceballos, current Sun Alan Williams and Dave Jorger.

The attendees include 128 ninth graders from a number of tribes throughout North America. Although this is the first such camp to be held in Arizona, this Jr. NBA camp is part of the 15th annual NABI tournament featuring 64 boys teams and 64 girls teams from grades 10-12 from Native American communities across the U.S. and Canada.

The NABI tournament concludes on Saturday at Talking Stick Resort Arena.

On Wednesday, the Phoenix Mercury are hosting NABI Night brought to you by IASIS Healthcare. Teams will take part in a team parade on center court during halftime of the game against Atlanta.
