A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a collision that left multiple people injured in Phoenix, police say.
Police say Jonathan Enrique Lopez, his three passengers and a man on a motorcycle were taken to the hospital and treated for injuries following the crash Sunday morning.
Lopez was driving eastbound on Southern Avenue at around 9 a.m. when he crashed into a 42-year-old man on a motorcycle near 39th Avenue. The car then crashed into a canal.
The motorcyclist, who was critically injured, was the only person who remained hospitalized Monday.
Lopez was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and multiple counts of endangerment upon release from the hospital, police said.
Phoenix police suspect both speed and alcohol as contributing factors.
