A Phoenix man died of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident in Peoria earlier this month, police said.

Andrew Woulard, 23, was traveling west on Thunderbird Road about 6 p.m. March 18 when he collided with a passenger car turning left at 75th Avenue, said Officer Brandon Sheffert, Peoria Police Department spokesman.

The driver “possibly” failed to yield to the right of way of the motorcycle, he said.

Woulard was thrown from the motorcycle, his helmet flying off on impact, Sheffert said.

Woulard was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died. The driver of the car and a passenger were not injured, Sheffert said.

Peoria police were still investigating. Impairment is not suspected to be a cause of the accident, Sheffert said. No arrests have been made and no citations have been issued, he said.
