A girl who went missing Friday night while walking her dog was found unharmed in Phoenix Saturday, police said. 

Valerie Cockrill was located near 26th and Georgia avenues, Phoenix Police Department officials said. She was not injured.

Witnesses discovered the girl after seeing information about her disappearance on the news, police said.

Valerie left her home in the 2300 block of West Bethany Home Road, about a mile and a half from where she was found, at about 7 p.m. Friday. She took her dog, Meeko, with her.
