Mesa police have identified a man who was found severely injured at a Mesa home last Friday night and later died.

Callow J. Brown, 27, was found in distress from trauma near Horne and Holmes Avenue at about 8 p.m. last Friday, Mesa police said.

Brown was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.

Officers initially responded to a call for a welfare check on March 9 to the 500 block of East Hilton Avenue, where Brown was found suffering from obvious trauma, police said.

Brown did not live at the residence and the circumstances surrounding his death are still being investigated, police said.
