The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation Monday morning after a body was found along the side of the road in Buckeye.

MCSO Sgt. Bryant Vanegas said they received a call of a body lying on the side of the road near State Route 85 and Hazen Road.

“We do not know if it is a male or female yet,” Vanegas said.

The investigation was in the preliminary stages and information as to whether a crime was involved has not been confirmed.
