A man is dead after an altercation at an apartment complex early Sunday turned deadly, police said.
The shooting happened near Sossaman Road and University Drive at about 4 a.m, according to police.
Two men broke into an argument at a “small gathering,” according to a spokeswoman for the Mesa Police Department. The argument became physical before one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the other man.
The victim died at the scene. The alleged shooter is in police custody.
Neither of the men, whom police described as Hispanic males in their 20s, has been publicly identified at this time.
