A 27-year-old man was shot at his Glendale home following an argument with a family member Wednesday evening, police said.

The man initially told police he was struck by a random drive-by shooter outside his home in the 6900 block of West San Miguel Avenue just after 8 p.m., said Sgt. Scott Waite, a Glendale Police Department spokesman.

The man said an unknown man in a dark-colored, four-door vehicle pulled up and opened fire, Waite said.

Waite said the man changed his story shortly after, saying that he had been shot following a dispute with a family member.

The man was struck in the “lower extremity” and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Waite said.

Waite said police have a suspect but that the suspect was not in custody as of Wednesday evening.
