A tow truck driver was in critical condition Wednesday evening following a shooting in Phoenix, police said.
Phoenix police said they were responding to reports of a stabbing near 35th Avenue and Buckeye Road just before 5 p.m. when they found a tow truck driver with a gunshot wound.
The man was taken to a local hospital in extremely critical condition. His identity was not released.
Officers on the scene are investigating what led up to the shooting. The area is expected to be restricted for some time, the Phoenix Police Department told the Arizona Republic.
