A man convicted of armed robberies at 11 Phoenix-area businesses has been sentenced to 260 years in prison, federal officials said.

Anthony Wayne Hamilton, 27, was convicted in June of 11 counts of robbery under a federal law that prohibits actual or attempted robbery.

In addition, he was convicted on 11 counts of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Phoenix.

Between Dec. 20, 2015, and Feb. 9, 2016, Hamilton robbed at least 11 gas stations in the Phoenix area.

Court documents show that he used a black and silver handgun to threaten violence during the robberies.

Hamilton stole money from the gas stations and from gas station employees, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a press release, committing robberies at stores in different cities around the Valley.

Federal officials worked with multiple local police agencies in the Valley to track down Hamilton, according to the release.
