Flagstaff firefighters rescued a man Saturday who had been stuck in a storm drain for two days.

According to the Flagstaff Fire Department, the man fell 30 feet down a series of storm drains on the east side of Flagstaff on Thursday.

The man told the firefighters he had been trapped in the storm drain for two days in bad weather conditions and standing water.

Officials said the man had multiple injuries and was suffering from prolonged exposure.

Rescue teams were able to safely remove the man from the storm drain before taking him to Flagstaff Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.

It wasn’t clear how or why the man was in the storm drain in the first place.
