A man was killed after a fight on Sunday afternoon in Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of a man bleeding in the street shortly before 1 a.m. near 39th Avenue and Deer Valley Road, according to police spokesperson Sgt. Ann Justus.

Police found a man suffering from a severe laceration wound. He was taken to a hospital and later died, Justus said. 

Authorities are investigating the death as a homicide. 

Police did not release any additional information.
