A man was injured Sunday morning after jumping out of a moving car on Interstate 17 in Phoenix, officials said.
According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, shortly before 11 a.m., a man exited his vehicle on the freeway, causing the two right lanes of southbound I-17 to close near Northern Avenue.
The man, who had not been identified, sustained injuries in the incident, and Phoenix fire crews responded to help, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.
The extent of the man’s injuries and what caused him to jump out of the vehicle were not immediately known.
