Police are investigating after a man was found with a gunshot wound in downtown Chandler on Thursday evening.

Officers responded about 6 p.m. to a report of a man walking through a vacant lot with a gunshot wound, Chandler police said.

Officers found the man near 300 E. Commonwealth Ave., southeast of Arizona Avenue and Chandler Boulevard.

The Chandler Fire, Health and Medical Department treated the man, and he was transported to a nearby hospital. 

His condition was not immediately available.

The shooting remained under investigation Thursday evening. Chandler police said they were working to determine where the shooting took place.
