Mesa Desert Ridge defensive end/outside linebacker Joquarri Price has committed to play football at San Diego State.

He announced it on social media Saturday morning.

Price, 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, grew two inches and gained 15 pounds since his junior season when he led 6A in sacks.

“He is stronger and faster than ever,” coach Jeremy Hathcock said. “He won’t relent ever. His motor has to one of the best I’ve ever seen.”

Price’s other offers were from Iowa State and Rice.

“I loved San Diego State when I went down there, and it felt like home,” Price said. “They have a great program and I feel like it’s the perfect place for me.”

Price had 77 tackles and 12 sacks last season. He also had 19 quarterback hurries.
