Sen. John McCain took in the Diamondbacks game Thursday night with his wife, daughter – and hand sanitizer.

McCain, 80, recently began treatment for an aggressive form of brain cancer. A well-known sports fan, he mingled with fans and watched the D-Backs play the Los Angeles Dodgers. The home team lost, 8-6, to the Dodgers.

In an interview last week with The Arizona Republic, McCain said his doctors have told him that exercise and good food would be important to his recovery, as well as staying active.

Meghan McCain shared a photo of Instagram of her and her father at the game. Cindy McCain also attended with her husband and daughter.

McCain recently said his favorite sports memory is of the Diamondbacks winning the 2001 World Series.
