Offensive line set?
With ASU beginning its fourth week of preseason practice, coaches likely will start looking to finalize the depth chart, at least for Week 1. This is important for both sides, but particularly for the offensive front. Coming off last Saturday night’s scrimmage, here’s how the line shaped up during Monday’s media-viewing session:

Note: Sophomore Zach Robertson likely would be somewhere on this list but he has been limited recently.
Depth-chart notes
– Junior cornerback Joey Bryant continues to run with ASU’s first-team defense, opposite sophomore Kobe Williams. The second-team corners were sophomore Darien Cornay and redshirt freshman Chase Lucas. None of the four has taken a snap at this level. Senior Maurice Chandler — who last season started four games — mysteriously still is not in the picture, at least during the parts of practice open to media. During ASU’s time at Tontozona, coach Todd Graham said the Sun Devils would start working in Chandler at some point, but it doesn’t look like that has happened.

– Senior Alani Latu — who injured his elbow during a Tontozona practice — lined up at first-team end during an initial walk-through session. … Junior Deion Guignard got a few first-team reps at WILL linebacker. … Junior Tyler Whiley ran at second-team spur linebacker, with senior Marcus Ball lining up at one of the safety positions. … Freshman safety Evan Fields, limited for most of preseason practice, lined up with the second team. … Junior walk-on Abraham Thompson shared second-team reps at Devilbacker with sophomore Malik Lawal.
– Freshman Brandon Ruiz made 6 of 7 field goals from a distance that looked to be 42 yards.
– Junior end JoJo Wicker was disruptive during the initial “team” session, “sacking” junior quarterback Manny Wilkins once and pressuring him on a second play.
– Among those who appeared limited: sophomore QB Brady White, sophomore DE Jalen Bates (although he got second-team reps); sophomore OL Zach Robertson; sophomore RB Nick Ralston; freshman WR Curtis Hodges; junior TE Ceejhay French-Love and junior DB Demonte King.
School starts this week
ASU is scheduled to practice at Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 9 a.m. before taking Thursday off, which is the first day of classes for the fall semester.
The Sun Devils practice again on Friday at 9 a.m. and then hold a scrimmage on Saturday night at 7:30, which is the same time as kickoff against the Aggies.

The Sun Devils held a scrimmage last Saturday and head coach Todd Graham offered few details but did say: “We’ve improved dramatically from last week to this week.”
After Saturday’s scrimmage, ASU holds seven more practices before the Aug. 31 season opener.
