A fatal crash closed westbound Interstate 10 at 51st Avenue for more than eight hours Saturday, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.

The crash happened at about 2 a.m. Saturday, according to DPS. One person died in the three-car collision. 

DPS did not provide any additional information about the cause of the crash. 

The freeway reopened shortly after 11 a.m.
