The Arizona Department of Transportation said Interstate 40 has reopened but warned drivers to slow down and be extra careful while driving on northern Arizona’s icy roads.
Interstate 40, the main thoroughfare linking northern Arizona to the Land of Enchantment, was closed in both directions early Saturday morning between Holbrook and the Arizona-New Mexico border, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
ADOT had pinned the closure on weather conditions.
