Nothing says outdoors like a barbecue. And nothing goes better with barbecue than craft beer. You can enjoy both at the 8th annual Great American Barbecue and Beer Festival this Saturday, March 25 at the Dr. AJ Chandler Park in downtown Chandler.

This year’s festival is bigger than ever with an expanded event zone, more than 100 exhibitors and more than 60 pit masters from across the nation offering more than 20,000 pounds of pork ribs, pulled pork, brisket and chicken.

All this meat can be paired with a variety of beers from the 200 kegs of the state’s finest craft beers.

Enjoy a full day of country music while savoring the beer and barbecue. There will also be a March Madness lounge, grilling demonstrations, a kids zone, eating competitions, live cooking demonstrations, backyard beer games and a farmers’ market.

A portion of this year’s proceeds from this event will go to the Boot Campaign, a non-profit dedicated to providing assistance to wounded military and their families with job placement, mortgage-free homes and counseling.

Details: Noon-10 p.m. Saturday, March 25. Dr. AJ Chandler Park, 178 E. Commonwealth Ave., Chandler. $20-$175 per person. chandlerbbq.com.
