Police on Tuesday evening descended on an area of Baseline Road and 27th Street in Phoenix after a shooting involving Glendale officers.

The shooting occurred about 5:30 p.m. on the 2700 Block of East Valencia Drive. Phoenix police have an area of Baseline Road blocked to traffic.

Sgt. Armando Carbajal of Phoenix police said the shooting involved the Glendale Police Department. Multiple police agencies are on scene.

Glendale police Sgt. Tiffany Smith said Glendale police officers were working with a U.S. Marshal’s Task Force in the area when the shooting took place.
