For the first time in decades, the U.S. men’s national soccer team failed to qualify for the World Cup after a 2-1 loss to Trinidad and Tobago, a team that was already eliminated.
The only U.S. goal came from 19-year-old Christian Pulisic.
It’s an absolutely crushing defeat. Even the U.S. soccer Twitter account only wrote one word: heartbreak.
Fans on Twitter are in disbelief. They responded with jokes, anger and sadness.
