A man found in a tow truck died after being shot and hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday evening, police said.
Evanni Corona, 31, was found just after 5 p.m. near 35th Avenue and Buckeye Road in a tow truck, suffering from a gunshot wound, Phoenix police said.
Police had initially responded to the area after receiving a report of a stabbing. When police located the victim, Corona was taken to a hospital where he later died, according to Phoenix police.
Police believe the tow truck was driving along Buckeye Road between 35th Avenue and 51st Avenue at around 4:50 p.m. and 5:10 p.m.
Police are asking anyone with information on the incident to call the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
