An elderly pedestrian has died after he was struck by a car while crossing the street Saturday night, authorities said.
The Tempe Police Department said a man was hit by a car while while in the roadway near McClintock Drive and Broadway Road just before 10:30 p.m.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver stayed at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.
Traffic in both directions was closed Saturday night as police investigated the incident.
No other details, including the identify of the pedestrian, was available Sunday evening.
