A man died after hitting a pole head-on while driving across the light rail tracks early Sunday morning, according to police.

The unidentified man was alone when he hit the pole near Central Avenue and Encanto Boulevard just before 5:30 a.m., police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation in ongoing.
